The course will examine theoretical and neurobiological perspectives of addictions from an integrated practice approach. The course includes evidence-based and contemporary information about addictive disorders among diverse populations, review of social policies related to substance-use disorders, and intervention. Content will address the complex nature of addictions, current substance use issues, controversies, recovery process, and co-occuring disorders. Pre-req: SWK or PSYC 101 or SOC 150.
