SOC 304 Sociology of Food & the Environment

Applies a sociological perspective to connections between cultural and institutional forces and the personal understandings about food and the environment. Investigates how cultural values impact the development of food production, distribution, and consumption patterns. Examines how social institutions like politics affect the construction of environmental policies, with particular attention given to how social practices produced inequalities and how social activism works to change environmental injustices.
