EED 301 Designing Effective Learning Environments

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and utilize developmentally appropriate practices for children, ages birth through eight. Skills needed to choose developmentally appropriate materials, design developmentally appropriate learning environments, and carry out developmentally appropriate curricula will be emphasized. Technology integration for teaching and learning will be studied. The interplay of early learning standards and multiple curriculum options will be explored. Early childhood development stages will be reviewed and applied as it relates to activity and unit planning. Additionally, family conferencing and diversity will be discussed. A letter grade of "C" is required for this course.
