ENG 200 Foundations in English Studies

This course introduces current or prospective English majors and minors to the methodologies, rhetorical strategies, and critical dispositions on which the fields of literary analysis and writing studies are founded. It emphasizes the moves that are expected when writing in these disciplines, the importance of understanding genre, and the analytic approaches taken by scholars in these fields toward a variety of situations and topics. In doing so, this course establishes the foundational skills that English majors will need to successfully complete their degree.
