MATH 482 Data Science Capstone I
This course is the first in a two-semester sequence. The purpose of this capstone sequence is to execute a complete data science project from conception to documentation. Students will propose a project based on a contemporary data science application. All proposed projects must be approved by the mathematics faculty and must have a novel research or analytical component. In this first course students will concentrate on proposal writing, data acquisition and preparation, initial data exploration, and descriptive analyses.
