CJ 365 Intelligence Analysis in Criminal Justice
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the role intelligence plays in the criminal justice system. Students will examine various intelligence-gathering methods, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), signals intelligence (SIGINT), and geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), and learn how they are used to support law enforcement operations, counterterrorism, and criminal investigations at the local, state, and federal level and across jurisdictions. The course covers the ethical, legal, and practical implications of intelligence collection and dissemination, emphasizing its application in preventing and responding to crime.
