EDUC 512 Developing the Research Proposal

This course guides Master of Arts in Education candidates through the development of a comprehensive research proposal aligned with their program concentration. Students integrate prior coursework in literature review, research methodology, and professional writing to construct a cohesive, scholarly proposal. Emphasis is placed on developing a clearly articulated problem statement, purpose statement, and aligned research questions grounded in relevant literature and methodological frameworks. Students select and justify an appropriate research design, which may include qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, or action research approaches, and develop all required components of a complete proposal in APA format. The course culminates in the submission of a finalized research proposal approved by the academic advisor and meeting Key Assessment standards for the MAEd program.
