State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements
West Liberty University is authorized to enroll out of state students in online courses and programs in accordance with the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) managed by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). More than 2,400 institutions voluntarily participate in SARA from the 49 member states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Currently, the state of California does not participate in SARA.
State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements
If a student located in a State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) state has a complaint about their online course or program, it must first go through the institution's standard procedure for the resolution of student grievances. If a student is not satisfied with the outcome of the institutional process, a complaint may be brought to the West Virginia SARA portal entity. Their contact information and complaint form can be found at https://www.wvhepc.edu/inside-the-commission/special-initiatives/state-authorization-reciprocity-agreement-sara/ Resolution of the complaint by the West Virginia SARA portal entity is final.
