SPED 554 Education & Curriculum for Gifted

This course provides a comprehensive examination of curricular models currently in use with students who are gifted and talented. Students taking the course will learn to apply these curricular theories in their development of differentiated programs and teaching practices. They will develop skills in differentiation of curriculum as to content, method of presentation, process, products, and environment. This course will also cover the West Virginia regulations pertaining to the development of Individual Education Plans and discuss how this impacts curriculum. Innovative programs will be studied and research will be analyzed to develop competency developing programs for students who are gifted and talented.
