Certificate in Spanish Language

This Certificate in Spanish Language teaches the linguistic skills that will enable students to communicate in Spanish in a variety of real-life and workplace situations. It prepares students to speak, write, read, and orally comprehend Spanish at the intermediate level, according to the standards set forth by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). After students complete the sequence of required courses, the program culminates in an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) that substantiates the student’s level of language proficiency. This certificate is particularly useful for students with career aspirations in health care, social work, law enforcement, education, and other professions that will bring them into contact with Spanish speaking populations.
