ATC 531 Contextual Dimensions - Mental Health Counseling

This course explores mental health counseling in the context of health and human services systems and integrated care. Students will identify legal and ethical responsibilities for setting up a private practice including record keeping and documentation. Considerations of working with clients with a dual diagnosis, an overview of psychopharmacology, and the importance of clinical supervision and professional development will also be reviewed. Course content is set in the context of the ACA and AMHCA Codes of Ethics.
