BIO 530 Advanced Field Botany

An integrated lecture/laboratory course designed to train graduate students in the advanced identification of the flora of the Upper Ohio River Valley including angiosperms, gymnosperms, pteridophytes, and bryophytes using field guides and taxonomic keys. Particular attention will be paid to structural terminology necessary to identify plants in both laboratory settings. The focus will be on plants native to the region and common invasive exotic plants.
