Chemistry 3+4 Pre-Pharmacy (B.S.)

The Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Pre-Pharmacy 3 + 4 major is designed to develop a deep understanding of chemical and biological principles and laboratory techniques in preparation for a professional degree in pharmacy. Students in the 3 + 4 pre-pharmacy chemistry major will complete their first three years at WLU then continue their education for the Doctorate in Pharmacy at select institutions with which WLU holds a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Students following this option will complete a series of courses that meets the prerequisites for the pharmacy program and fulfills the general education requirements at WLU plus the majority of a major in chemistry. Upon entering a pharmacy program and successfully completing the first year of study, WLU will accept credits (seventeen) from the doctoral program and the student will receive the Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from WLU. If a student opts to stay and complete a full course of study at WLU prior to enrolling in a pharmacy program or decides to pursue a different avenue, they may switch to a different chemistry major and graduate with the 4-year degree.
