NUR 423 Advanced Application of Cardiac Support
This course provides in-depth preparation in the advanced assessment and management of adult cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Students will integrate electrocardiographic rhythm interpretation, pharmacologic interventions, airway management strategies, and team-based resuscitation principles within high-fidelity simulation environments. Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making, leadership in code situations, ethical considerations in resuscitation, and evidence-based application of national resuscitation guidelines. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to test for the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
