NUR 442 Review of Clinical Capstone Skills

This course provides a final, intensive immersion into the professional nursing role, mirroring the scope of the Clinical Capstone. Designed for students in the final semester, the course requires completion of 144 clinical hours (twelve 12-hour shifts) in an intensive care or medical-surgical setting under the direct supervision of a nurse preceptor. Students will synthesize all previous clinical experiences to provide comprehensive care for groups of patients, demonstrating readiness for independent practice. A weekly seminar is integrated to facilitate critical reflection, clinical reasoning, and the final transition from student to professional nurse.
